Cheryl steps into Sharon's shoes

If you thought the rivalry between Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue was bad on The X Factor, get ready for more fireworks: Cheryl Cole has been confirmed as a new judge. The Girls Aloud singer has landed the £800,000 job after Sharon quit due to a huge pay demand.
"I'm so excited, although it's scary joining a huge programme," she told The Sun. "The rest of the girls are right behind me. But it will be weird to be on the other side of the fence this time."
Cheryl - who is known for speaking her mind - has clashed in the past with Dannii. The 36-year-old Australian singer didn't speak to the band when they appeared on last year's show and has branded them chavs.
Cheryl hit back by slamming Dannii's plastic surgery. Oh dear, back to your corner girls.
However, it seems that all the snipping has been forgotten - for now. Dannii claims to be delighted that Cheryl is on board. "I am absolutely thrilled. I called Cheryl as soon as I heard to congratulate her," she said.
